Warning: A lot of the information presented in this article was given to us by The Lord of Disquiet, the leader of the group, and as such, some of it may be untrustworthy. It is recommended that you take everything presented here with a grain of salt.
Project Sengula was an organized group led by The Lord of Disquiet whose claimed goal was to bring the end of supposed issues with MediaWiki, such as Pedophilia and Censorship; Though their supposed Unionized goal was to remove politics from FANDOM. The group was composed primarily of Libertarians, Conservatives, and other right-wingers, with the Lord, the leader of the group, being a self-proclaimed Fascist.
Sengula presented themselves as similar to the hacktivist group Anonymous, although Sengula held many differences, including the fact they were much smaller and (seemingly) having not being completely decentralized. They are estimated to have had only 50 (possibly 200) members at their peak. Due to their constant use of mass vandalism, hacking, doxxing, and intimidation, they can arguably be considered an internet terrorist group.
History
Not a lot is known about the group, apart from its interactions with the SMW and various other wikis, along with information given to us by a few members and the Lord Himself. This is what we know about the group so far.
Creation and First Encounter with SMW
Sengula was created in October 2018, although at that point they were known as "AZ" and only had 3 members.
The group didn't rise to prominence until August or September 2019, when they began raids on major political wikis such as Liberalpedia. At that point, they claimed to not make use of hacking, although this may have since changed.
On September 8th, an account named BeefStew556 (most likely Squidward pepe) vandalized the wiki and spammed some NSFW images. The account was blocked almost immediately. But PoseidonHeir was informed of sengula coming to the wiki, and he alerted the wiki with a youtube video explaining the situation.
Sengula arrived in the next couple days, threatening PoseidonHeir and other wiki members; they claimed they might raid the SMW unless a page was made about them on the SMW History Wiki. Initially, Poseidon refused to do so as it would bring attention to what he saw as a troll group, however, he eventually agreed and made this page. ajor conflict was narrowly avoided, but only for the time being.
Later Days and Dissolution
Sengula returned a handful of times in the rest of the fall, and in October they fought Chaotix38, who claimed to be a "true anarchist" who would aid the SMW in their fight against Sengula, who he insisted were not trolls. Despite his apparent benevolence, he was regarded as a drama-stirrer by the SMW and was encouraged to leave.
Chaotix left, but Sengula would continue to return. Until February, they came back every week or so and would conduct minor Squidward pepe-esque attacks. At some point around January, the attackers claimed that Sengula had disbanded, and that whatever was left of it had essentially become a troll group, known as the JarlaxleArtemis vandals.
However, some of the other attackers, including those remaining on non-surreal-meme wikis, referred to themselves as "THE DAWN". Some former Sengula members have stayed in a group, but whatever is left of them is most likely no longer a threat.
